Hardly the bastion of socialism, the Tri Valley
Democratic Club endorses Sen. Bernie Sanders.

DEMOCRATS | The Tri Valley Democratic Club believes they are the first such group in the state to endorse Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders for president. The club voted to back the independent senator running as a Democrat on May 20, more than a year before the California presidential primary in June 2016.
“Sanders comes from the people… He has paid his dues and understands from town hall meetings and face to face encounters with voters, how Americans feel today. He does not walk in the world of the rich and powerful nor will he court the rich and powerful. His power will come from the people for whom he speaks.” says Eloise Hamann, political director for the club.
However, there are always risks in backing a candidate so early in the electoral process. Sort of the same reasons bridges and parks are typically not named for people still alive. Sometimes the recognition comes back to haunt you.
This week, a Mother Jones article reported, somewhat in passing, on an sexual fantasy commentary Sanders wrote in 1972. The salaciousness of the short piece is hardly commensurate with the attention it has received in the national media, but nowadays any reference or imagery to rape, even in a fictional setting, raises significant concern. Appearing on “Meet the Press” Sunday, Sanders called the essay “poorly-written” and akin to the novel “Fifty Shades of Grey.”
As for the endorsement of Sanders by the Tri Valley political group for a self-proclaimed Socialist Democrat, it appears to be the work of the club’s president Ellis Goldberg. With his well-worn stars and stripes cap, Goldberg has always been more in line with Oakland’s progressive movement far more than the small band that exists in the much more moderate Tri Valley.
Keep in mind this is club that counts Rep. Eric Swalwell as a long-time member.

And then we had Dubya, Dick Cheney, Donnie Shock 'n' Awe Rumsfeld, Richard “Frenchy” Perle, Paul Wolfowitz, Paulie “Czar o' Baghdad” Bremer and a whole 'nother cast of brilliant comedians.
Oh never mind.

As a followup to my previous post, the Watergate scandal was not just an education for the American public about how extremely sleazy Richard Nixon and his co-conspirators were, but also: one, to some degree provided at least a minor education in how extremely sleazy politicians in general could be; and two, provided for the general public a major education in the facts that we should be much less willing to automatically believe statements made by the big boys, and including US presidents, and/or statements prefaced by remarks such as “According to the US government” or “According to reliable sources.”
However far and away the biggest thing most of the public failed to comprehend in regard to Watergate was that both Nixon and most of his very sleaziest conspirators – and such as John Dean, John Mitchell, and virtually all of the rest of his cabal of sleazeballs, scumbags, professional pathological liars, and arrangers of fraud and phony “investigations ” – were lawyers.
In fact, the same was true of most of the scumbags that were Bill Clinton's co-conspirators, and including the scumbags who “proved” that Clinton had told the “truth” when he denied having had sex with Monica Lewinsky. In other words, most of Bill Clinton's very sleaziest c-conspirators in lying and covering up the truth were lawyers, and just as Richard Nixon's were. And in general if you want your organization to be as sleazy as possible. then hire lawyers for virtually all key and high ranking positions. NOTE: One morning during the1990's and while the disclosures regarding the Clinton scandals were in high gear, I happened to be listening to a particular radio talk show. The host of the talk show made an interesting remark.
He said of all the people who had been US presidents, Nixon (in other words Richard Milhous Nixon) and Clinton (in other words William Jefferson Clinton) were the only ones whose names included all of the letters necessary to spell out the word “CRIMINAL.”
And then a few months ago it occurred to me that Hillary Rodham Clinton, and who is a lawyer, and just like Nixon and just like her husband Bill Clinton, also has in her name all of the letters necessary to spell out the word “CRIMINAL.”
So let's call Nixon CRIMINAL # ONE, Bill Clinton CRIMINAL # TWO, and if Hillary wins the 2016 presidential election, then we can refer to her as CRIMINAL # THREE.

I hope Hillary is the Democratic Party's nominee in the 2016 presidential election. Although I consider Hillary to be one of the very sleaziest and phoniest creatures in the entire history of US politics, however if Hillary continues her campaign for President, it will provide unlimited opportunities to discuss, unmask, and bring out the truth about many of the scumbags, sleazeballs, parasites, demagogues, charlatans, fifth columnists,. and blood sucking leeches that in recent decades have become more and more prominent and powerful in US society and politics, and especially in the leadership positions in the Democratic Party.
There have been a few presidential elections in US history that were much bigger than just making the decision as to who would be our commander for the next four years. Instead, they were a forum in which direction our nation intended to take for at least the next few decades.
Perhaps the biggest examples of such were the presidential elections of 1860, 1932, and 1964.
However the next few major elections in other words 2016, 2020, and 2024, and also the midterm congressional elections of 2018 and 2022, will most likely result in the virtual destruction of the DP for at least generations, and including since the DP has so many skeletons in its closet that are about to come out, that not even skilled professional pathological liars such as the Clintons will be able to doubleltalk their way out of it..
And even if Hillary should manage to win the 2016 presidential election, in the larger sense it would almost certainly actually be a defeat for both her and the DP, and just as Richard Nixon's victory in the 1972 presidential election in the larger sense and in the long run actually turned out to be a huge setback for both him and the Republican Party.
So therefore I hope Hillary is the DP's candidate for president in 2016.
