HARMER SPEECH IS OPENING ACT FOR TEA PARTY SCUFFLE OVER A WOMAN

There is a saying in baseball that during the course of a game you will likely see something you have never seen before. Not so much the case in the world of politics, though, but from time to time the most mundane of public events will turn into something more bizarre than anything on the diamond.
The husband of the founder of the East Contra Costa Tea Party attacked another party organizer after seeing the man accidentally touch her backside. The mini-brawl occurred onstage during a forum featuring congressional candidate David Harmer (CA-11), according to Danville Patch. (Video of the aftermath is included.)
“Never let your hand brush a woman’s rear,” Steve Donaldson told the web site. Donaldson took the brunt of the jealous spouse of Jill Price, who has been featured locally for her work in building the local political group and mocked by a poster on the Daily Kos for the local Tea Party’s inability to round up protesters for a July rally in Pittsburg.
Harmer, who is running to unseat Rep. Jerry McNerney for the Central Valley seat, spoke to the group in Brentwood in advance of the WWE shenanigans breaking out on-stage and was dumbstruck as the two men tumbled off the stage, according to the account. A reporter for Patch, described Harmer as “embarrassed” afterwards. Presumably for the donnybrook, and not for his politics.
Besides, don’t Tea Partiers read Victorian novels? This sort of thing happens all the time after a cup of tea.
