ELECTION ’12//HAYWARD | Two weeks ago, Hayashi’s rudimentary campaign Web site included her committee’s mailing address of 22561 Main St., Suite 200 in Hayward. Coincidentally, that is also the address of Armas Consulting, the influential Hayward firm headed by disgraced school board member Jesus Armas.
The address is also connected to the city’s chamber of commerce (everything in Hayward seems connected in some unholy manner or another, it seems) and lies adjacent to the L’amour Shoppe, Hayward’s best location for procuring fuzzy handcuffs, dildos and scented lubes.
Hayashi’s campaign consultant, Mark Capitolo, dismissed the connection between the committee’s address, Armas and the sex shop on Main Street. “I don’t want to talk about where she picks up her mail,” he said last week.
However earlier this week, the mailing address was changed to a P.O Box in Castro Valley.

Immediate Resignation of Maribel Heredia, HUSD Board Member
It is the responsibility and privilege of Hayward Unified School District (HUSD) Board of Trustees to promote the education of Hayward's children to the highest standard possible. We are demanding Maribel Heredia resign immediately due to her dereliction of duty and unbecoming behavior for an elected official.
Maribel Heredia has failed to fulfill her duties in a manner that is transparent, forthright, and shows goodwill to students, parents, teachers, classified staff and administrators.
Ms. Heredia has an ongoing problem with her commitment to attend meetings; she is frequently tardy and leaves early.
According to a story published in ebcitizen.com on July 26, 2012, Ms. Heredia admitted under oath that she does not read board materials, but depends on the judgment of another, unnamed HUSD currently elected board member to make decisions on how to vote. This is collusion and creates a myriad of possible conflicts of interest.
Ms. Heredia, is a subject of an ebcitizen.com article, published July 25, 2012, that exposed a scandalous illicit affair with fellow HUSD board member, Jesus Armas. Both have families. This behavior demonstrates poor ethical judgment.
We believe that Ms. Heredia was obligated to disclose her new relationship (that is widely thought to have started over a year ago) with fellow board member, Jesus Armas to the community at large. In that time, Ms. Heredia has voted on hundreds of agenda items that greatly affect and influence the quality of education in our community and working conditions of HUSD employees.
The community believes that Ms. Heredia has failed in her duties as an elected Trustee for HUSD. Therefore, we demand her immediate resignation.

Having seen the wonderful, honest, trustworthy, and upright person of great integrity that Mary Hayashi is, therefore I am confident that if she is involved with a porn shop it would not be a seedy porn shop she would be involved with but instead almost certainly an extremely high class porn shop.

I concur with 6:17, but I think you meant to say that hayashi saw the how people will make a connection so she changed her address.

The porn shop is a good story if it was not than Hayashi would have change her address. So the no need to look for weaknesses in story just the fact that people with bigger brains than you at Hayashi saw that the connection is there…otherwise why change the address.
Keep the stories coming Tavares we will read them. I want to see the lease contract to see if Jesus Armas or anybody from the hayward chamber like the Dutra, Miller, or the Christian Zaballos property manager guy negotiated the contract or talked to Alameda county for permits. I am sure someone in the chamber is involved in that porn shop.
Tavares keep digging…so far so good.

…Consultant? Corporate messaging? Huh? No need to get defensive dude. We're all glad you're out there covering this stuff, especially the fact that you're keeping on Hayashi's trail. And usually your gonzo style is pretty entertaining, but the porn shop connection just seems a little forced is all. I guess it's a funny coincidence that it's there.
The Armas/Chamber endorsement thing is a good piece of reporting, though. Thanks for digging this stuff up. The Mad Magazine graphic is hilarious, too.

Thank goodness for Mr. Tavares. I just read the Daily Rag story about the candidates for HUSD board positions. Aint it funny that this Rebecca Parr woman, who knows nothing about our city or our schools, has decided the focus of her articles should be whether Mr. Reynoso behaves according to some “good behavior” protocol. Like smiling and voting yes on everything is a sign of a dedicated board member. Who cares: if he is asking the right questions, informing the public of their rights, speaking for children and teachers, forcing fiscal accountability…who cares if he does so with his “inside voice” and a smile or he shouts it from the tree tops?????? I sure don't !

This person above is a perfect example of why I'm the only reporter that can get anything done. Consultants who want to tangle with me are totally stymied by trying to mold news coverage with their power or power of their clients. Who are they going to complain to? My mother? No, it's just me. I go to the meeting, I decide what is newsworthy, design a graphic, take a picture, write the story, edit it and publish it. In between there is no room for corporate or political massaging or messaging. Instead, they try to criticize my work, when in fact they're really criticizing you.

Yeah, Steven, this doesn't make a lot of sense. Okay, so it looks like Armas, Hayashi, and the Chamber are connected. That's potentially interesting and worth pursuing. But what does the sex shop have to do with anything? I know you're trying to get page views, but throwing that into the story when it doesn't really fit is just trying too hard to be salacious. Okay, it's next door to the Chamber building. So what?

I rented a booth in that shop as my campaign headquarters; it came (no pun) with hourly cleaning and you could pass notes to your neighbor via these 9″ in diameter holes in the wall; well worth the minute rate!
And, ummm, why does she have a PO Box in Castro Valley…as Supervisor, she won't be representing CV; they have that guy that dresses up as the Good Humor man passing out oranges in the rodeo!

DAmn I hate this area. We are in Hell. Now that explains the horny mouse Jesus Armas and the slut Maribele Heredia. To think those two are on the school board, and now there is a porn shop. wow. I supposed the Hayward chamber too are a bunch of seedy people and corrupt people too. No wonder Peter Bufete likes Jesus Armas. Get me out of this town.
