Lukas Taproom & Lounge in Oakland is a nice place. The campaign for 18th Assembly candidate Rob Bonta liked it enough to book the downtown restaurant for its Election Night celebration tonight, except there was one problem. The owner is an avowed supporter of Abel Guillen, Bonta’s opponent for the open Assembly seat.
Unbeknownst to the Bonta campaign, the restaurant also featured Guillen’s yellow and purple election placards on display. Having campaign signs for Bonta’s opponents sitting on the restaurant’s window would surely look bad and according to a source, the campaign tried to persuade the owner to take down the signs. But, he would not relent.
The acrimony between some members of the Bonta campaign and the owner of Lukas Taproom reached such a point that both charged breach of contract. In response, yesterday, the Facebook page for Lukas Taproom featured a large photo of Guillen along with the restaurant’s lengthy endorsement.
Long story short, party goers hoping to celebrate Bonta’s possibly election to the State Assembly don’t have to worry about ex-lax being slipped into their coffee a la Dumb & Dumber, the event was moved to the Pacific Coast Brewing Company on Washington Street in Old Oakland.
You are misinformed.

I voted for Bonta because of Tavares story and the fact Marga Macabre is supporting Abel
