AC Transit Moves Forward With Sanctions Against Board Director Joel Young

AC TRANSIT | The AC Transit Board of Directors is moving closer to formally reprimanding At-Large Board Director Joel Young over allegations he may have profited from confidential information gleaned from its legal files, along with his participation in the board’s closed session discussing of the case. Young issued a written response calling the allegations “reckless and speculative,” but not before saying his accusers had “filthy hands.” The transit board, however, was not swayed. 

The board directed its general counsel last week to draft a resolution before its next meeting providing some type of sanction for Young’s actions. Board Director Chris Peeples, however, included in the motion directing counsel to use similar language contained in a 2000 resolution censuring former AC Transit Board Director Nancy Jewell Cross for misuse of public funds…

    If the things I have been reading for the past year or so about Joel Young are accurate, then he is unusually sleazy even based on the “standards” of the legal profession.
