CONGRESS | 15TH DISTRICT | President Barack Obama endorsed first-term East Bay Rep. Eric Swalwell Monday in advance of the June 3 primary matchup against State Senate Majority Ellen Corbett in the 15th Congressional District.
“Since day one, Eric has shown unwavering dedication to the needs of his constituents — helping veterans secure the benefits they’ve earned, protecting seniors, and ensuring women receive equal pay for equal work,” said Obama in a statement released by the Swalwell’s campaign. “I enthusiastically support Eric Swalwell’s reelection to Congress so the East Bay can continue to move forward.”
Obama’s endorsement could be followed this weekend by the official backing of the state Democratic Party at their convention in Los Angeles starting Friday. Swalwell failed to win enough support at a pre-endorsement meeting last month in Hayward, but garnered a clear majority.

The Statewide Labor endorsement is a huge one for Ellen Corbett. It carries more weight in this State than potus. It almost assures her a win in the primary. The question is who will come in number two? Our current two faced Congressman or the Republican.

Mrs. Miller and I will be supporting our outstanding congressman Eric Swalwell. We can't support novices who have no idea what they are doing and would be in above their head, Ms. Corbett. We also would never support anyone who whores for the unions.

Potus doesn't matter to local voters as much as articles like the Citizens “Swalwell's Pay To Hire Problem” on Tuesday or Swalwell voting to cut off unemployment benefits to 1.7 million Americans including 200,000 veterans and then taking his pay after saying he wouldn't. District voters will vote for Ellen Corbett because this congressman has no feeling for the 95% of us who aren't rich.

While I would probably lean slightly toward Swalwell in a contest against Corbett, however regardless my main opinion in any contest between Swalwell and Corbett would be: DOESN'T OBAMA HAVE BETTER THINGS TO DO , AND SUCH AS FOR INSTANCE RUN THE ENTIRE UNIITED STATES, than concern himself with a battle between the type of demagogues, charlatans,, clowns, and two cent jokers who comprise East By politics!!!

Wow, a POTUS endorsement. That might actually cause the voters who put our current congressman in office to stay home or not vote for Swalwell this time.
I also would like to know what the poll showed and why it hasn't been released. It must make him look real bad with Ellen Corbett winning. That could explain the desperation and name calling from his staffers and supporters.
Many of the people in my area like Ellen more than they do Eric and this could be an upset to the outsiders, but an expected Ellen Corbett win to the local residents.

Ralph Farias is a candidate who has run for City Council in Hayward and has been soundly beaten and rejected by the voters every time he has run for office.
POTUS stands for president of the united states.
We all know Ellen Corbett is running against Eric Swalwell and I agree with the posters above who say local voters will decide, not people who live outside the district. Only local endorsements might matter somewhat, if at all.

The majority of the voters are in Ellen Corbett's Senatorial District or her old Assembly District. That's why Swalwell staffers constantly post on the Citizen. They are scared of losing their jobs. Ellen is very popular in the 15th and will win in November. I predict with 54% of the vote. Ask your candidate to release his internal poll he took. He won't and he hasn't released it because it shows him losing a close race.

I know my family will still vote for Ellen Corbett, as we have for her two elections to the Senate. You Swalwell staffers can keep posting your comments all you want, but it will not change our minds.
What the Federal or State Dems do is of no concern to us locals. We see Swalwell make mistake after mistake, tell lie after lie, and take money from companies that stick it to the middle class and lower class. It's Ellen Corbett for us.

Corbett needs to call Gov Brown and beg for an appointment. Come Sunday, Swalwell will have the Democratic Party endorsement as well as the head of the Democratic Party – our President. Unless Swalwell commits a crime, he will be re-elected.
