STATE SENATE | 9TH DISTRICT | Nancy Skinner registered a dominating 18-point June primary victory Tuesday night over Sandre Swanson. It’s a result that bolsters Skinner’s already formidable fundraising and organization in the East Bay’s Ninth State Senate District.
Skinner and Swanson will meet again in the November general election, but the large point spread leaves Swanson in a deep hole over the next few months. Skinner already holds $1 million in cash reserves. Swanson maintains just over $100,000.
Despite blowout, the top two was never in doubt Tuesday night. Skinner posted 47.9 percent of the vote, followed by Swanson at 29.8 percent.
First-time candidate Katherine Welch earned 13.3 percent, while Rich Kinney received 8.9 percent of the vote.

Looks like some of that Jean Quan magic rubbed off on Sandre Swanson.
The big cash give-a-way to the Oakland City employees that Swanson and Quan rammed through didn't seem to help Sandre overcome his “tired old re-tread” appeal.
