Alameda County Democrats appear to be gluttons for punishment. Local party leaders will endeavor Saturday morning in Oakland to hand out a large number of potentially pivotal endorsements to East Bay candidates. The meeting is expected to possibly last 10 hours and include 28 mini-forums for races all over Alameda County, along with two ballot measures.

Many candidates, however, can rest easy knowing they already have the party’s endorsement. A steering committee previously whittled down the field of 129 candidates, but party members are able to pull some races off consent. Those separated from the pack will meet Saturday.

Here’s a list of those on the consent calendar.

Among the races to watch is all four races in Oakland, including mayor and three city council contests. Note the party can also pass on issuing support and merely vote “no endorsement.” Winning candidates require 60 percent of the vote. Below is a list of the races to debated Saturday morning at the Teamsters Local 853 hall, 7750 Pardee Lane, Oakland.
