Alameda County’s three U.S. representatives reacted to the release and dissemination of facts in the Mueller Report Thursday with deep concern and a determination to further investigate President Trump.

Reps. Eric Swalwell, Barbara Lee, and Ro Khanna all appeared, at first glance, to harbor more vitriol toward U.S. Attorney General William Barr than any alleged misconduct provided in the report. All three called for Barr to resign over the appearance that his objectivity has been compromised by his comments and actions in favor of Trump.

Swalwell returned to his sweet spot over the past two years on cable television attacking Trump and Russian collusion in the 2016 presidential election. The additional information and context provided in the lightly redacted report may still vindicate Swalwell and his nascent presidential campaign by bolstering some of his most overheated rhetoric, such as suggesting Trump is an agent of Russia.
