Tempers flare between Swalwell and Freedom Caucus Republican

Rep. Eric Swalwell announced his presidential campaign on Monday.

During Tuesday’s contentious House impeachment investigation, which included the closed-door testimony of Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, East Bay Rep. Eric Swalwell and Republican Freedom Caucus Rep. Mark Meadows got into a heated argument.

The shouting match became so intense, according to CNN, that others joined the fray.

The fight erupted after Meadows’ questioning of Vindman was viewed by House Democrats as a veiled attempt to unmask the identity of the whistleblower who initially revealed President Trump’s conversation with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky.

The phone call, in which Trump asked Zelensky to investigate Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden, and his sons role in a Ukrainian energy company, has set off a fast-moving path toward Articles of Impeachment against the president.

Rep. Adam Schiff, the chair of the House Intelligence Committee, called out the Republican’s attempt to figure out the whistleblower’s name using a process of elimination, CNN reported. That’s when the argument between Swalwell and Meadows ensued.
