Rep. Barbara Lee will start 2020 woke and spoken for. The East Bay’s progressive champion is getting married on New Year’s Eve. Rev. Dr. Clyde W. Oden, Jr. is the lucky man.
Lee announced her nuptials in a fundraising email to her supporters on Monday morning. Oden recently retired as pastor of Bethel Oxnard African Methodist Episcopal Church in Southern California.
In 2001, Lee famously cast the lone vote in the House against giving President George W. Bush military authorization for the war in Afghanistan out of fear it would lead to endless wars.
Her vision turned out to be prescient and may prove to be strong evidence for the soon-to-be First Man of the 13th Congressional District that Barbara Lee is always right.
