Rep. Ro Khanna serves as one of Sen. Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign co-chairs. It seems Sanders’ progressive rhetoric and propensity to skewering not only the right, but the left, is rubbing off on Khanna.

The Fremont and Silicon Valley gave a blistering speech on the House floor Wednesday in opposition of the National Defense Authorization Act, a $738 billion military budget bill later approved by Congress.

“There are many things you could call this bill, but it’s Orwellian to call it progressive,” Khanna said. “My question is when are we going to listen to the American people? When are we going to do our Article I duty, and stop funding these endless wars and start funding our domestic priorities?”
